Our popular Color Deconvolution plug-in uses a sophisticated color deconvolution algorithm in 3D color space to separate or remove color components. The algorithm was published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences of January 2006.
Color separation can be applied to solve forensic problems such as (but not limited to!):
- Removing an obscuring color in foreground or background, in fields such as forensic document examination or fingerprint examination.
- Discrimination of inks in forensic document examination (detecting additions with a different ink).
Color Deconvolution is a plug-in for PhotoShop™ compatible plug-in hosts, some of which are free.
